At the very Top of the list is the amazing lowmillguesthouse but that’s probably because we own it ! Low mill is situated in Bainbridge and is a unique and wonderful place to stay if you are coming to the Dales,3 beautiful rooms, a lovely riverside garden and a great big waterwheel…that actually works

Stage one cycles and the firebox café serves the best coffee in hawes and the cakes are fairly epic too….you can also buy a bike and get a puncture fixed…Oh and not forgetting Daisys handmade bobblehats… www.stage1cycles.co.uk or 01969 666873 …. situated in the dales countryside museum which is small but perfectly formed

If you like chocolate ,like me,then you will love inspired chocolate in leyburn,small independent handmade chocolate makers in every shape,size and flavour….yummy

Not local but they have a long list of fabulous walks that are local. Walking books have walks for all levels and they have 2 great box sets of Yorkshire Dales walks..those guys know how to put a good walk together

If you like wildlife photography then you will love the Red squirrels of snaizeholme,my first trip out on a photography workshop was to this magical place when it was run by simon Philpotts who has now moved on but it has been taken over by Paul Fowlie and he offers workshops and hide rentals redsquirrelhide.co.uk/
